Money is tight and I ….

Money is tight and I get that but can’t we spend a little on some hot tar and asphalt and fix some od these potholes, especially on hwy 77 and the service roads? I think I saw a VW bug fall in one and never came out!!! [ Editor’s Note: Some of these potholes will definitely rattle your fill-ings, but I’m afraid that if you want highway and service road potholes, you’ll have to go up a level or two. Those roads are not locally maintained.

Highway 77 is a state highway, so ARDOT has purview, and the Interstate 40 and Interstate 55 Service Roads are maintained by the Federal Highway Administration. If I had to guess, and admittedly this is just a guess, I’d imagine a lot of that funding is tied up in that big trillion- dollar infrastructure bill that some of our lawmakers appear to be very uninterested in passing, so I would not hold my breath waiting for those potholes to be filled]

*** In many parts of the world the vaccination rates have reached a high enough level that we can return to an almost normal life. here are still some restrictions on travel, mask wearing is required in some circumstances and those that are not vaccinated are excluded from some venues and activities. That last item is causing trouble when a group of people might go out for a meal and those that cannot prove their double vaccinated status or medical exemption are denied entry. They would be disappointed, but it is for the benefit of the majority as well as themselves. The problem that is occurring is that some of the excluded are resorting to yelling and even violence as a result and trying to force their way in or attacking people. A number of people including politicians are suggesting that all restrictions should be removed to prevent these conflicts. Since when should bullies get their way and have their poor behaviour supported by politicians? Don't let them get their way. Basically VAX UP or STAY OUT.
