The Democratic Central Committee will be hosting a Primary Forum for local, state and federal candidates in the May primary, on Thursday, April 28, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the West Memphis Civic Center. Hear from candidates and from party leadership. Special guests include State Senators Joyce Elliott and Keith Ingram, Crittenden County Judge Woody Wheeless, West Memphis Mayor Marco McClendon, members of the Arkansas Democratic Black Caucus, the Federation of Democratic Women, Stonewall Democrats and the Arkansas Democratic Faith Caucus. The public is invited.

The popular benefit pARTy and art auction for DeltaARTS, is returning to a live, in-person event for its 10th year – and with a new location! This beloved event, which celebrates Delta artists while supporting the artsin- education programs of DeltaARTS, will now take place at the historical Commissary in Mound City, Arkansas. Art on the Levee will feature a silent art auction with easy online bidding while guests enjoy Gus’s Fried Chicken cooked fresh onsite and Tacker’s Shake Shack’s famous fried pies, along with libations, live music, and more, all set against the beautiful Delta landscape! “Have a Heart, Support the Arts!”

Main Street West Memphis presents the return of Blues Off Broadway, featuring free live music every Thursday in May, from 6 to 9 p.m., 212 W. Polk. Blues, Brwes & Food. Scheduled to appear are, May 5: Infinity Band, a Classic Soul Band with a Twist; May 12: Lucious Spiller Blues Band with special guest Watermelon Slim; May 19: Akeem Kemp and Albert King, Jr.; May 26: Baunie & Soul and Johnie B. & Queen Iretta.

Marion School Board The Marion School District has released its calendar for the monthly School Board meetings for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year. All meetings are held at 6 p.m., at the Central Office, 200 Manor Street, in Marion. Meetings will take place on: May 19, and June 16. The public is invited to attend.
