owned financial institutions and one of the benefits of that is having local citizens who serve on the Fidelity Bank Board of Directors.

Fidelity recently tapped one of the county’s leading citizens to serve on the board: Dr. Susan Ward-Jones.

Dr. Ward Jones wears many hats, but primarily she spends her days at Chief Executive Officer of East Arkansas Family Health Center in West Memphis, overseeing a staff of more than 200 employees.

Dr. Ward-Jones not only serves as CEO but also still serves as a physician at EAFHC. Additionally, she still finds time as a wife and mother.

“Fidelity Bank is honored to add ‘Fidelity Bank Board of of Directors’ to her impressive resume,” said Fidelity Bank CEO and president Charles Horton.

Dr. Jones-Ward originally came to West Memphis in 1996 as part of the National Health Service Corps’s Loan Repayment Program, but chose to stay in the area long after her loans were repaid because of health care needs in the area.

She is an avid supporter of her community. Currently, she is a member of the corporate Board of Directors of Southland Casino Hotel, a member of the West Memphis Chamber of Commerce and a past member of the Boys and Girls Club of Crittenden County.

Additionally, Dr. Ward-Jones is a member of the Arkansas Medical, Dental and Pharmaceutical Society; the Arkansas Medical Society, the American Medical Association, the Crittenden County Medical Society, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the Earle Church of God where she sings in the choir and serves on the Board of Trustees.

According to Horton, the choice of selecting Ward-Jones was an easy one.

“Our board was searching for someone that is in touch with our community, he said. “I think Dr. Susan Ward-Jones is that person.

She will be a great addition to our board”
