Suspect escapes with undisclosed amount of cash in big rig

In a brazen broad daylight heist, an unidenti_ed man walked into the Regions Bank in Marion and walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No, it was not a withdrawal … at least not a legal one.

The Marion Police Department issued a press release concerning the incident: “On June 21st, 2022 at approximately 1:13 p.m., of_cers responded to Regions Bank located at 141 Block St., in reference to a robbery that had just occurred. Of_cers made the scene and made contact with employees and reviewed video footage of the suspect, a black male wearing a black hoodie, black pants, a gray face mask, white gloves, and brown work boots.”

According to Det. Dustin Burnett, the suspect demanded money from the teller and placed the cash into a duffel bag he was carrying. He then ed the scene on foot. It was not disclosed whether or not the suspect was armed.

“Witnesses stated the male ed on foot towards the area of Walnut Street and Manor Street,” said Burnett. “Detectives checked with local businesses and reviewed surveillance cameras, which showed the suspect get into a blue in color tractor-trailer parked on Manor Street.”

The vehicle then left the area. Investigators were able to track the big rig on surveillance cameras and was last seen leaving the area traveling north on the East I-55 Service Road.

“We ask that if anyone has any information on the suspect or the suspect vehicle shown (see photos), please contact the Marion Police Department- Criminal Investigation Division at 870-739-2101 or contact Crittenden County Crime Stoppers at 870-732-4444,” said Burnett.

The Marion Regions was closed for several hours following ther robbery with a note directing customers to the West Memphis branch on East Broadway.
