Getting a Lift

Left: Sarah Catherine Davis, Director of Children's Ministry at Marion United Methodist Church, gives a lift to Alexis Person, a second-grade student at Marion Elementary School, so she can place food on the proper shelf at the church. MES has four 'houses' that hold community projects during the year. This nine-weeks was the Finchfeathers turn and the youngsters hosted a food drive to replenish the cupboard at the MUMC Backpack food program. The staples are loaded into backpacks each Friday and given to students throughout the district to take home to have nutritious food during the weekend. The Backpack program is in its eighth year.
