Mass Hysteria

Share

Welcome to the sequel to my article last week in this paper, titled “When It Hit the Fan,” which I call “Mass. (as in Massachusetts) Hysteria.”

I knew it was coming— it’s that reporter’s instinct thingy—you can just ‘feel’ a story coming at you like a freight train sometimes. And this….this particular one was rising like a tsunami—just over the horizon.

Namely, the result of the flood of illegals pouring into the state of Massachusetts (just like a tsunami.) Especially after the humiliating prelude of the national debacle of Martha’s Vineyard residents calling the National Guard in, throwing illegals off their private island just 48 hours after their arrival there, in September of 2022, (which…again…I reported on in last week’s issue of this paper.)

Well, low and behold, the validation arrived today in bold type. The headline from Boston’s Channel 25 news is: “Governor Healey asks residents to house migrant families amid growing shelter crisis.”

“Governor Healey says close to 5,600 families are currently housed in the state’s emergency shelter system. That number is 80% higher than one year ago… She says Massachusetts has been spending around $45 million a month to help assist these families. The situation is so bad, the Healey administration is now asking people to open their homes and businesses to help people in need.”

Indeed, this specific posting brought a response from Elon Musk on X as well: Musk: “They’ve run out of hotel rooms, are kicking kids out of school for illegal housing and now they want your homes too.”

Newsweek reported, “In a letter to Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, Healey blamed “federal policies on immigra-

tion and work authorization, inadequate production of affordable housing” and “the end of Covid-era food and housing security programs” for the problems the state was facing.”

So…let me get this straight; the problem is NOT the state being overwhelmed by hordes of illiterate, non-Englishspeaking parasites in this country illegally and receiving housing and welfare due to their criminal actions?

Instead…the problem (according to Governor Healey of Massachusetts) is that immigration laws should be shred, work authorization rules abandoned and illegals be able to take away jobs from American citizens at once, and that—in the meanwhile— hovel villages be erected for the invading dreck, and that Covid money should be misappropriated to support them—constituting a fraud, as that would be a reason other than the one for which government Covid money was originally appropriated.

H-m-m-m…what could possibly go wrong with that plan?

And…as if this plan isn’t exactly ‘bass-ackward’, as they say, there is this excellent overview of the crisis situation from veteran journalist, Howie Carr, who spent decades living in Massachusetts, writes for the Boston Herald, and has a radio program based there. (I listen to his broadcast often.) His heart is really with the residents who live in that state.

In Carr’s 7-12-2023 column for that paper, entitled: Lucky 28 Towns Get Migrants… Guess Who Doesn’t? he states what the citizens of that state saw coming their way a year ago: “The illegals are not being sent to, among other millionaire destinations, Cambridge, Brookline, Newton, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, Chatham, Swampscott, Newburyport, Wellesley, Dover, Sherborn, Amherst… The Healey administration has released a list of the 24 cities and towns where it is spending millions on hotels and motels for thousands of handout- demanding illegal aliens arriving from the Third World.

“Oddly, however, almost all the ultra-affluent suburban communities most loudly committed to celebrating diversity have thus far been unable to provide suitable free housing for the new nonworking classes.

“Do you begin to get the picture?

“These melanin-impaired preserves of the Beautiful People all have Hate Has No Home Here signs festooned on every lawn. Yet oddly they somehow remain unaffected by the Democrats’ ongoing “fundamental transformation” of America into a Third World flophouse.

“…To sum it up, the self-proclaimed sanctuary cities and towns are no-shows when it comes to providing sanctuary for the huddled masses yearning to live free on the arm forever.

“But it did reveal a few interesting facts, including the two dozen state communities into which the Third World is being imported: “Burlington, Chelsea, Chicopee, Concord, Dedham, Greenfield, Holyoke, Kingston, Marlborough, Methuen, Norton, Norwood, Peabody, Plymouth, Revere, Saugus, Shrewsbury, Sturbridge, Taunton, West Springfield, Westborough, Woburn and Worcester.”

“…Now, I’m sure that the Democrats can explain why it seems that only certain types of non-woke communities are being selected for this wondrous opportunity.

“We’ve heard all their excuses before. Think Martha’s Vineyard last fall, when the 50 amigos were flown in by Gov. Ron DeSantis. The National Guard quickly hustled them off the island paradise before they could set up homeless encampments on the Obama and Kerry and Larry David estates.

“These pampered pukes who talk the talk always have alibis for not walking the walk… “Wonder what the problem is?”

Doesn’t seem to be a problem at all…at least, for the wellheeled liberal.
