Cornerstone Baptist Church

Old St. Paul Church Services

The Old St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church will have in-person and Zoom Sunday School and Facebook Live Sunday School services at 8:45 a.m., and in-person and Facebook Live Easter Sunday services (@oldstpaulchurch), at 10 a.m. Please join us on Wednesday nights for our in-person and Facebook Live Bible Study, at 6:30 p.m. Host Pastor is Frederick and First Lady Eair Anthony: “We are a church that grows people and glorifies God.”

Holiday Sanitation Schedule

The City of West Memphis will be closed on Friday, March 29, for the City’s observance of Good Friday. As a result, the sanitation department will collect both Thursday and Friday routes on Thursday, March 28th. The regular schedule resumes on Monday, April 1. Women in Business The West Memphis Chamber of Commerce invites you to attend the inaugural Women in Business Roundtable. Join panel speakers who will share tips unique to women regarding how to navigate the workforce. This year’s keynote speaker will be Valerie Calhoun of FOX13 Memphis. Luncheon tickets are $60 for members and $75 for non-members, now through April 1. Saturday, April 13, beginning at 3 p.m., at The Post Event Center, 114 N. Missouri St., in West Memphis. Tornado Siren Testing

The West Memphis Office of Emergency Management will conduct periodic tests of the city’s tornado siren warning system on Saturdays at noon. These sirens are located at: Tilden Rodgers Park, the J.W. Rich Girls Club, South Avalon at the VFW, 10th Street at Jackson, Goodwin at Garden Drive and MLK Drive at Beatty. If you have questions or concerns about the outdoor weather sirens, please contact the City of West Memphis OEM at 870-702-5159.

Crittenden County Color Run

Come one, come all to the Courthouse Square for the Crittenden County Color Run, Saturday, April 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. Entry is free, and all ages are welcome to a family-friendly run/walk under a fabulous Delta sunset. Snowcones, inflatables, a DJ, inflatables and more. Presented by Moms of Marion and the Marion Advertising & Promotions Commission.

MYSA Baseball

Registration is underway for the 2024 Spring Baseball season for the Marion Youth Sports Association. MYSA will have five age groups: 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, & 11-13. The Registration is $40 and runs through March 22. Register online at gomysa.com. Tickets are $25 at the door or in advance at the church office or from any First Student Missions member. Spring on the Square

The Marion Chamber of Commerce will be hosting “Spring on the Square” on the Marion Courthouse Square on Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The community is invited to come out for this arts and crafts fair. Vendors of all kinds, food trucks and more.

The Marion School District holds its monthly School Board meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Central Office, 200 Manor Street, in Marion. The community is invited.

Bingo Night

St. Michael’s Catholic Parish hosts Tuesday Night Bingo every week. Open to everyone ages 18 and up. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Games begin at 7 p.m. Smoke free and alcohol free. Concessions available.

High School Completion Program

Arkansas residents ages 21 and older who do not have a high school diploma can now finish school online for free through a new program from Graduation Alliance called the Arkansas Adult Diploma Program. Graduates earn an accredited high school diploma. According to a press release, Graduation Alliance can offer this program for free through a state-funded initiative administered by the Arkansas Department of Education Division of Career and Technical Education. To qualify for the program, applicants must be an Arkansas resident, 21 or older, have access to a computer and the internet, have completed at least some of 10th grade, and have not completed a GED or another high school equivalency diploma. West Memphis School Board

The West Memphis School District holds its monthly School Board meetings on the third Tuesday of the month, at 6 p.m., at the Central Office, 301 S. Avalon. St., in West Memphis. All meetings are open to the public.
