recognizes the A rkansas month of March as Women’s History Month, established in 1987 by Congress to celebrate the contributions American women have made to strengthen the nation since its inception.

Women’s History Month honors women who have pursued excellence in every field and profession throughout history. American women have been at the forefront of every major social movement in our nation’s history, paving the way for future generations to enjoy the unalienable rights, duties and responsibilities afforded equally to all citizens of the United States of America.

Women working inside the home, and in academia, science, technology, business, governance and more maintain a critical role in every sphere of society.

Now, therefore, I, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Governor of the State of Arkansas, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the laws of the State of Arkansas, do hereby proclaim March 2024 as Women’s History Month in Arkansas, in testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Arkansas to be affixed this 15th day of March, in the year of our Lord 2024.

Defending our border

Today I directed the Arkansas National Guard to send soldiers to the southern border to support the Texas National Guard as they work to combat the illegal immigration, drug trafficking, and human trafficking created by the failed policies of the Biden Administration.

The Arkansas National Guard is sending approximately 40 Guardsmen to support border control efforts along the nation’s border with Mexico from April 1st until May 30th. The Texas National Guard will remain the lead agency and the Arkansas Guardsmen will remain under the control of Governor Sanders in their area of operations.

President Biden opened our southern border to an invasion of illegal immigrants, drugs, and human trafficking and is now criticizing Texas for stepping up where his administration has failed. I’ve seen the crisis our President created firsthand, and I know the incredible men and women of the Arkansas Guard can help supplement Texas’ efforts to keep our border secure and our states safe.
