• MPO Meeting — The West Memphis Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) in cooperation with the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), will hold a Joint MPO Policy and Technical Coordinating Committee meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m, at West Memphis City Hall, 205 S. Redding St., West Memphis. The public is invited to attend. • Medical Resource Seminar — A special community event is set for Friday, Nov.

8, hosted by PremierChoice In-Home Care, 302 Main St., Hughes. The event will be a community resource and information program for medical services. The public is invited to the event which begins at 9 a.m. and lasts until 1 p.m.

• Scholarship Auditions —

Young men and women from Crittenden County are invited to sign up and participate in the Ballet On Wheels scholarship auditions for this year and 2020. Those individuals interested can sign up Saturday, Nov. 9, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., 1015 S. Cooper St., Memphis. The auditions are for ages 12 and up and are for full and partial scholarships.

Classes are available in all levels of ballet, jazz, contemporary an creative movement.

• Veterans Day Program —

V.F.W. Post 5225 and Commander Elvin Tate are inviting the public to the V.F.W. in West Memphis on Monday, Nov. 11, beginning at 11 a.m., for a special Veterans Day ceremony. Guest speakers, special music, and veterans from different eras and wars.

• Civil Air Patrol — Civil Air Patrol meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the ASU Aviation Technical Center, 737 Taxiway Drive, in West Memphis. • Families in Transition —

provides support groups for victims of domestic violence as well as teen dating violence. We also provide “Safe Dates” Adolescent Dating Abuse Prevention Curriculum to schools, youth groups and any organization focusing on youth ages 12 and up. • Global Academy USDA Food Program — Global Academy, Inc., located at 301 N. 7th St., in West Memphis, is participating in the USDA Food Program. Meals will be available at no charge or at a reduced rate to enrolled persons at the above location.

• Bethel AME Community Grant Program — Larry Banks, pastor of the Bethel AME Church, 2304 E. Barton Ave., was recently awarded the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant for the 2019-2020 school year by the U.S. Department of Education. Applications are now being accepted for a maximum of 100 students to participate in the program that will be held at Maddux Elementary School, 2100 E.

Barton Ave. Once the 100 positions are filled, all others will be placed on a standby list. Applications for children in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 may be picked up at Bethel AME Church or at Maddux Elementary School during back to school registration.

The program director is Sheri Lowe and the site coordinator is Karmen McNutt.

• West Memphis Lions Club — The West Memphis Lions Club holds their meetings every first Tuesday and third Tuesday of each month at Shoney’s at noon.
