T he wedding of Cori Ann Holt and Derrick Brett Miles solemnized at Missouri Street Church of Christ in West Memphis, Arkansas.

Mike Seale of_ciated the double ring ceremony on October 10th, 2020. The wedding, dinner, and reception provided for an intimate gathering for the families of the bride and bridegroom.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Curtis Holt, Jr. of West Memphis, AR. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James Curtis Holt, Sr. of West Memphis, AR, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wendell “Wink” White of Pine Bluff, AR.

The bridegroom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Miles of West Memphis, AR. He is the grandson of Mrs. Hershell Wright, Jr. of West Memphis, AR, and the late Mr. Hershell Wright. Jr.

of West Memphis, AR. The bridegroom is also the grandson of Mr. Ray Davis, Sr. of West Memphis, AR.

The church was adorned in ivory and green, with large wooden lanterns _lled with crystal cylinders of alstermeria, various size white and green pumpkins, and grapevine. The grapevine decorated arch accented the church in front of the stained glass window. Enhancing the nave around the alter were large bronze urns with Kimberly Ferns.

A program of nuptial music was furnished by violinist, Miss Johniece Anderson, of Memphis, TN. The ower girl was Preslie Holt, of Collierville, TN, niece of the bride. She wore an ivory Bishop style Strasburg full length oat dress with lace accents. The dress was accented with crocheted lace and satin ribbon at the monogrammed bib collar, as well as the sleeves, and skirt.

She wore a gold cross necklace with a tiny diamond, given to he by her paternal grandparents. She carried an ivory satin and pearl basket of ivory rose petals.

Serving as an usher was Curt Holt, III, of Collierville, Tennesee, brother of the bride.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal wedding gown of ivory sand silk organza, English net, and Chantilly lace, designed by Allure Couture.

The sculptured bodice with a hug was _tted and sheer, fashioned with a scoop neckline. The gown had shoulder sleeves and a _tted waistline embellished with intricate hand beading. The trumpet style skirt was covered by lace appliques with Chantilly lace overlay and hand beaded insets of sequins and seed pearls. The covered buttons extended the entire length of the full chapel length train.

Her _ngertip length illusion veil was accented with sequins, pearls, crystals, and clear beading along the edge. The bride wore ivory oral Belgian lace overlay shoes.

The bride carried a beautiful bouquet of ivory and cream roses, white alstromeria, gunni parva eucalyptus, aspidistra leaves, seed/sil/ nak/will, and a hint of gypsophyllia baby’s breath.

The bride’s jewelry was a pearl necklace and pearl bracelet given to her by her parents, and earrings.

Mrs. Savannah Warhurst Anderson, of Searcy, AR, best friend of the bride, was the matron of honor.

The matron of honor wore a formal tea length black dress. Her jewelry was a pearl necklace, a gift of the bride.

She carried a clutch of ivory and cream roses, alstromeria, gunni parva eucalyptus, aspidistra leaves, seed/sil/nak/ will, and a hint of gypsophyllia baby’s breath. The matron of Honor’s jewelry was a pearl necklace given to her by the bride, and earrings.

Mr. Mickey Shawn Thomas Yones, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, friend of the bridegroom, served as best man.

Immediately after the wedding, a dinner reception was held in Rash Hall. The reception hall was decorated in white and black, with gold accents. Also garnishing the hall were bronze urns holding green ferns.

Textured white linens covered the tables, which were topped with black runners.

Large crystal cylinders holding arrangements of alstroemeria and small white pumpkins served as table centerpieces.

A feast of bar-b-que, Caribbean Jerk wings, beans, slaw, mac and cheese, and homemade potato chips was c”M”atered by Central Bar-b-que. They also assisted with serving at the reception.

Rick and Kim Shirley, of Marion, AR, friends of the bride’s family, served at the bride’s table. The desserts were prepared by Carolyn Crestman, of West Memphis, friend of the bride’s family.

The three-tiered wedding cake, with butter creme frosting was topped with a single monogrammed “M”, with owers and greenery spiraling around the cake. Also on display were wedding bells which adorned the bride’s parent’s 1982 wedding cake, as well as the wedding cake of the bride’s maternal grandparents in 1949. The groom’s cookies were decorated in the shape and colors of his own red bass guitar.

Bubbles and ivoy streamers were distributed to guests by Preslie Holt, and Anna Grace Turbeville, of Nolensville, TN, cousin of the bride.

The bride received a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance with an emphasis in Financial Management from Arkansas State University.

She is employed as a Utility Sales Specialist for Universal Scaffold and Equipment in Memphis, Tennessee.

The bridegroom attended Arkansas State university, and is employed as a scale technician for Memphis Scale Works.

After a brief honeymoon trip to The River Inn of Harbortown, the couple will reside in West Memphis, Arkansas.

Parties

A miscellaneous shower was given in honor of the bride at Universal Scaffold and Equipment. Brenda Thakker served as hostess, with other ladies assisting.

In lieu of a shower, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ladies of Missouri Street Church of Christ collected money for a money tree presented to the bride and bridegroom.
