Decisions Can Be Hard Sometimes

Share

“To pee or not to pee?

That is the question…”

With three foot drifts of snow at our front door, Maggie, our Labradoodle, could NOT make up her mind to go out the other morning. I had to get my boots and coat on and go out first. It made me think about those difficult decisions we sometimes have to make in life and how great it is to have a partner to help.

My decision to get organized back in 1977 lead to success because I had a partner; my sister. Together we had ten times the energy we had separately. (That's Biblical.) If you've been on the fence (or in the doorway) to get organized, seek out a partner who has the same desire. It's interesting to me that I was married when I made the decision to get organized and my husband held my disorder against me. One would think that my decision would have been welcomed by him, but instead I was ridiculed and criticized as my sister and I turned our lives around. We went from pigpens to paradise in six months!

Had I let his actions and words deter me I would have been like Maggie focused in on the negativity of the situation. She was literally frozen in the doorway. Instead with my sister's encouragement, I ignored my 'then' husband and worked to get organized for me.

Don't allow anyone to cause you to doubt your ability to succeed. Find someone to share the change you want to make.

'Sidetracked Home Executives: from pigpen to paradise' could be your partner, at least until the pandemic is over.

My sister retired 15 years ago, but I'm still here for you.

Oprah and what fun it was to find out she was a selfconfessed SHE (Sidetracked Home Executive)! It was a moment where a real life celebrity became just like you and me. Dining can be like that too. You don't have to eat at the tables of Paula Deen, Rachael Ray or Giada to savor gourmet tasting food.

You can make it yourself!

On my blog (cluborganized. com) I have a variety of cooking video. In the latest, I show you one of the easiest ways to bake salmon — that heart healthy source of omega-3 fatty acids. Doctors call it “brain food” but I just call it delicious.

Throw in a sprig of rosemary (which always goes well with almost any fish) in and enjoy! Here's my simple recipe:

Sprig of fresh rosemary Sprig of parsley for garnish Salt and fresh ground pepper

Cut into serving sizes. Put salmon on heavy duty aluminum foil. Drizzle olive oil over fish. Sprinkle seasonings on flesh side of salmon. Rub rosemary between your hands over the salmon…then put the entire sprig on top of it.

Fold up foil and seal tightly. Bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees. Set timer for ten minutes. When it dings, check to see if salmon is done. Don’t overcook! Leave foil open and put back in oven if fish isn’t done. Keep checking up to seven minutes (it all depends on how thick the salmon is).

When done, peel off skin if you desire (lots of people love the skin). If you don’t, you can still use it in a fish stock if you’d like.

Serve with tarter sauce , the tbsp. of lemon juice and a sprig of parsley.

Get foil out of house right away so it doesn’t smell up the house!
