JACC set to host annual fall back- toschool community event Aug. 6

ralphhardin@gmail.com The Junior Auxiliary of Crittenden County is one of the areas most active civic organizations, serving in many areas of the community.

The JA’s have been particularly busy this spring and early summer with a number of big events, with more to come.

“This past weekend, we had the honor of hosting our Life & Associate Members of JACC at our annual tea,” said JACC president Courtney Guy. “It was an honor to host these amazing ladies who have set the stage for what we represent as our chapter and the legacy that they have left behind!”

The JA’s also play a role with the Crittenden County Miracle League, volunteering to help at the league’s kickball program “Our members enjoy cheering the players and supporting them,” said Guy.

The members celebrated at the end with a popsicle party.

One of the most important parts of JA life is keeping the spirit of service going to the next generation.

“Spotlighting our sweet Crown Club girls and their volunteering efforts, the girls helped with games and crafts, hid Easter Eggs, and helped clean up after the Woolfolk Library’s Easter Eg Hunt,” Guy said.

“We love sharing our heart for service with the youth of our county!”

During the school year, the JA’s are very visible in the local schools.

“JACC Provisionals teamed up with our local kindergarten classrooms to deliver the cutest Spring Baskets as a part of our Reading Rockstars Project,” said Guy.

“Nothing beats springtime with books, popsicles, chalk and fun!”

And one of the JACC’s biggest annual fundraiser is their golf tournament and banquet, which had a big turnout this year. Funds raised at the event help with the group’s biggest community event of the year and it’s coming up before you know it.

“JACC is beyond excited to bring back our Back-to-School Bash,” said Guy.

“We have such an exciting event planned for Crittenden County, including school-approved clear backpacks with supplies, a snow cone truck, bounce houses, free haircuts, hearing and vision screenings, dental health supplies and more! We will have a variety of programs from the community set up to provide families with more information on everything they offer. Come out and join us for this family friendly free event!
